Thousands of people from around the world involved in the online gambling business will be in London for several major conferences happening the last week of January. Lots of business being done of course, but hey -- this IS the igaming industry -- there WILL be parties!
The ICEi igaming trade show, the CAP Euro casino affiliates conference and the Mobile Gambling Summit bring seemingly everyone involved in the online gambling business to London, the undisputed igaming capital of the world.
The biggest social event of the week will be the annual Lyceum Fire&ICE party. This year, to accommodate ever-increasing numbers, the igaming party of the year will be at The Hippodrome on Leicester Square. The theme is “cabaret” (as in "What good is sitting alone in your room!?" and "Money Makes the World Go Around"). Doors open at 9:00 p.m. and, thanks to sponsors Gambling.com, NextGen Gaming, ESL-Asia and Bluff Europe there'll be fantastic cabaret-themed entertainment and complimentary drinks. The event producer is making full use of the elevating stage in the middle of the massive venue. She's booked a world-class DJ, a bongo player and a vocalist. Cool!
The Hippodrome has long been a place of revelry, but following its recent re-launch, it now has seven bars, an exclusive VIP room and private tables across triple level tiers. Fortunately, since Fire&ICE has outgrown every previous venue, this historic central London venue accommodates 1800 partiers.
The party week actually begins opening night of ICE/ICEi with "Breaking the Ice". Forty-five quid but if someone drags me along I'll be happy to attend. ;) Rushmore Casino and Hollywood Casino are both throwing parties for affiliates during CAP Euro. Affiliates webmasters go pretty crazy when they get away from their computers and out into the world, so those'll be fun. So will other CAP Euro parties like the Sunday afternoon Pub Crawl. Alas, I'll be checking in at Heathrow about that time.
